| Regions of France This is a group oral project With your team, you will research an assigned region. You will need to know it's location, products, weather, what it's famous for, festivals, famous people, etc. Within each team, each individual member will report on one of the major cities in that region, again finding out what it's famous for, products, costumes. This report will be all oral - presented to the class using a large blank map of France. You will have created visual "stick-ons" to attach to the map - names of cities and regions, perhaps pictures of products and famous people. Our goal is to better understand the country of France - why people like to travel there, what they like to buy and eat. Team 1 - Alsace & Lorraine |

You must also describe the person using the correct form of the adjective - ma mere est belle/mon pere est beau. You should use both affirmative and negative sentences. Please feel free to add in any other information - age, where they live, what you do together. Example. Here's my family. This is Lisa. She's my sister. She's nice and pretty smart. She is not very tall and she doesn't like to study. You will hand in the written piece (with picture if possible). You will present your family in small groups. |

| This is going to be a small
research project - the research to be done in class and
the written
work done on a block day. You are to use your computer time
to print your transportation arrangements and to select and do
research on a French city of your choice. . You are going to take a one way flight to Paris - (from SFO to CDG) print up the infol. (You are booking your flights separately because I want you to use the "French" Air France web site, but you can't use it to book from the US to France, only coming back - so you have two different web sites to use) However, you are not staying in in Paris. Use this web site to pick a city to visit -either on the coast or in the mountains, so that you will be able to use beach or mountain vocabulary in your written piece . Now you will book a round trip train ticket to that city - print out info. Please read these directions carefully for booking your train ticket. The web site can be a little confusing. Once you access the site, you will need to type in your city of origin (Paris) and your destination city. You will then need to indicate the dates and time of travel. Type in 31/05/08 (May 31) for departure and return 20/06/08. Choose a reasonable time of day. (You can indicate 1st class if you like ). Choose your age group. Click rechercher. The next page will give you several suggested trains. Choose a direct ride (no stops, no changes) if you can. Keep in mind, you have to book the "out-going" first and then the "return" . Click on choisir cet aller .Do the same for choosing a return . Print out the next page with the round trip train voyage and prices ! Book a return flight (one way) on Air France from Paris (CDG) to SFO - print out info. Your written piece is going to be a journal about your trip.. Each page will be a diiferent part of the trip. The minimum requirement will be one paragraph (5-7 sentences) about
. Please design a cover for the final copy. Here are some web sites to help you with your French - verbs grammar Rubric: Verbs 20 Grammar - Adj, prep, agreement 15 Vocabulary - precise language, no English 10 Sophistication: use of infinitives, complex structures 20 Content : 3 print outs (2 in French) and a cover 10 Plane - airport and ttrip 5 Train - station and trip 5 City - what to see and do 5 City - food , weather, clothes 5 Conclusion -must be written in the past tense 5 100 This paper will be written in class on a block day.
